Rafael keeps awarding for the Challenge

Rafael De Santiago, FCI Executive Committee member currently serving as FCI Treasurer, formerly a highly successful owner/breeder/exhibitor and FCI all breed judge since 1984.

Rafael has enjoyed a long association with the world of dogs, spanning more than 4 decades. As the European & Africa Section 2 judge for the Eukanuba World Challenge 2008, he selected 3 dogs to go forward to the final, one being Dagmar Hintzenberg-Freisleben's Saluki "Int./Multi Ch Dakira Sawahin" who ultimately went on to claim the Eukanuba World Challenge Champion 2008 title. Rafael recalls "When I was invited to judge at the EWC 08 I knew that I had a magnificent challenge ahead. I awaited the assignment with much anticipation. The best dogs from participating countries were presented for my consideration at this incredible and unique event. I knew that I had to be prepared to deal with the best, it was my responsibility to select, to the best of my knowledge and criteria, the three best dogs from an array of excellent representatives".

He continues "The Eukanuba World Challenge brings together the best dogs, selected by FCI countries, the AKC, CKC and the UK to participate in a world class event. To the FCI this is a very important event which allows the opportunity to present to the World the very best dogs from responsible breeders. The working co-operation between The FCI, Eukanuba and the AKC is a win, win relationship.
